I was appointed as the Students in Action for Values and Empowerment (SAVE) Party Campaign Manager. As part of my duty to inform the Technologians online, I would like to share to you the official line-up of the (SAVE) Party for the 2009 CIT-SSG Elections:

The Students in Action for Values and Empowerment (SAVE) Party of Cebu Institute of Technology is now on full gear for the July 22, 2009 CIT-SSG Elections. Kevin Ray N. Chua was appointed as campaign manager for the party.

The party is committed in bridging the gap between the school administration and the students. We are composed of diverse people and are ready to serve our constituents, the students of CIT. Carrying the slogan "INTEGRITY, CHARACTER and EXCELLENCE," the party is running on a platform of governance that will empower the students under our watch. We look forward to a more involved studentry under our leadership in order to accomplish our goals on the following things which we are guided:
  1. KINAIYAHAN (Environment)
  2. KATILINGBAN (Society)
  3. KATAWHAN (People)
  4. KULTURA (Culture)
The SAVE Party candidates will be starting to campaign this July 9 to July 18 and will be preparing for the Miting de Avance this July 20.

Cebu Institute of Technology (CIT) is not increasing its tuition fee for school year 2009-2010. The school has been in touch with the students amidst the global financial crisis that has started to ripple its effects in our country. Students who come from the middle class are in CIT, and the school has just made a great decision.

Being also a student, I can also feel the crisis. This move would be very helpful to all of us. Thanks a lot CIT!

To end the Cebu Institute of Technology (CIT) College Days with a bang, last March 3, the CIT - Supreme Student Government officiated the Battle of the Bands, a contest of CIT bands, sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology Scholars Association (DOST SA CIT), Bugrock, Mediatrack and Smash FM.

The following bands below from CIT performed and rocked the night:
  1. Midday
  2. Obstacles of Faith
  3. Mother Earth
  4. D5LR
  5. Camels from Hell
  6. Mixtures
  7. Pipeload Militant
  8. Band of Brothers
  9. 16th Avenue
  10. Vronica's Tribe
During that event also, I being the Head of the Public Relations Committee and Billy Jee Belenson, head of the Council of Leaders, announced the winners of the CIT-SSG Values Drive Mural Painting 2009 that was held last January 24 and 25.

The winners are as follows:
  • 1st Prize - Department of Science and Technology Scholars Association (DOST SA CIT) carrying the theme NATIONALISM
  • 2nd Prize - CIT Campus Ministry carrying the theme GENEROSITY
  • 3rd Prize - Industrial Engineering Council (IE Council) carrying the theme HONESTY
Back to the main event, the student's choice award went to Midday and the champion of the Battle of the Bands event was the Band of Brothers.

Congratulations to the winners and cheers to all the CIT-SSG officers who helped in organizing the event.

I would like to extend my felicitations to all the students and faculties of the Cebu Institute of Technology - College of Computer Studies (CIT-CCS) in celebrating the CCS Days last February 27 and 28 at the CIT Gymnasium.

The event was also a great venue in getting together my constituents in one place to showcase their knowledge and wits to each an everyone in the College. It was surely fun with those prizes that were given away to lucky participants during the raffle draw who stayed during the entire course of the event.

In behalf of Computer Science (CS) Representatives Yra May Talaba, Rahima Hamis, Mayette Genovesa and Mary Grace Gabunada, Information Technology (IT) Representative Jan Daisyl Diaz and Computer Engineering (CpE) Representatives Jervis Jade Revalde and Joseph Francis Parangan, congratulations to everyone that participated the event and hail to the index cards!
