The Cebu Institute of Technology - Supreme Student Government (CIT) has just spearheaded the Values Drive Mural Painting 2009 in the Back Gate hallway.

Council of Leaders (COL) President Billy Jee Belenson and I, organized the activity, with the help of several SSG Officers headed by President Benjie F. Belotindos, Vice President Stephen Alim, CS Representatives Yra May Talaba, Rahima Hamis, Mayette Genovesa and Mary Grace Gabunada, IT Representative Jan Daisyl Diaz, CpE Representatives Jervis Jade Revalde and Joseph Francis Parangan, EE Representative Jimrey Tomoric, ChE Representative and Speaker pro Tempore Kenneth John Racoma, Archi Representative Sesuvel Sevilleno, COC Representatives Raymund Bering and Mark Kenneth Cabanlit and CAS Representatives Cherry Christrose Castro and Jay Ann Clamohoy.

The event was held last January 24 and 25 (Saturday and Sunday), thanks to the approval of the school administration headed by CIT President Gregorio Escario and also the signatories of the letter. I would also like to thank the security guards who allowed us to stay in the mural painting area on Sunday.

The event was participated by different organizations inside CIT:
  • Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE)
  • Graphics and Media (GM)
  • Industrial Engineering Council (IE Council)
  • United Architects of the Philippines Student Auxiliary (UAPSA)
  • Junior Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers (JrPICHE)
  • Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines (IIEE)
  • Computer Students Society (CSS)
  • Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA)
  • Junior Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers (JPSME)
  • Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines (IECEP)
  • Department of Science and Technology Scholars Association of CIT (DOST SA CIT)
  • CIT Campus Ministry (CIT-CM)

The awarding of the winners is still being decided by COL Pres. Billy Jee Belenson as there is no CIT-SSG activity this February that we can have it included. Though there is the plebiscite on the proposed amendments to the CIT-SSG constitution, I think it would be improper to have it included there. The other CIT-SSG activities are still on March, in line with the school's Colors Day.

I assure the participants that we would be deciding on this matter as soon as possible.
