Should I trust Saridon?

As I have observed, there are some medicines that have been doubted with their effectiveness because of their exposure to the public. When there's only a bit of information about that medicine, people tend to go with the most popular one.

With its affordable price, Saridon has been a leading pain killer in the Visayas and Mindanao area. In the product information, it says that the product "relieve headache and most of temporarily minor pain such as toothache, musculoskeletal pain, and dysmenorrheal/period pain." Though it seldom advertises on the radio or TV, it enjoys a strong following on these areas and even competing with those products tagged with "no approved therapeutic claims."

I can remember a TVC about it with our Cebuano pride Jay-r Siaboc promoting the product. It was long time ago and I have never seen any of their new TVC or radio commercials:

A certain columnist raised doubts on the previous formula of Saridon because it contains phenacetin and its new formulation contains propyphenazone that gives negative side-effects by those who take it. It has alerted the public including the consumers of the products especially in the Visayas and Mindanao area.

Its producer, Bayer, tried to refute the statements of the columnist by publishing its own defense of the product. Yes, it can help but it would not be enough though. They should provide a website or a blog about the product that would inform more the public about it especially those who are in doubt of the product. It's a challenge that they have to face.

The product is just one of the examples of companies that need to have an online presence especially on their products by providing information about it and refute doubts by those who don't trust their product. In this fast-evolving world where every piece of information available online is shared in every second, one can't afford to utilize it. How can you create an awareness online about a product when at first there are no enough information about it?

Everyone expects that when you google something, the 1st result would be the most relevant link about it but not in the case with Saridon. Though it has some posts about the product, it lacks some information. It's high time for the company to provide a website or a blog for the product for an easy access on its information. Remember, with right and enough information, you can come up with a good decision.
