Maguindanao Massacre: Politics shouldn't be like this

What happened in Maguindanao is very unfortunate, unacceptable, uncalled for and should be condemned. Why should politics be like this? Why can't political warlordism and private armies be eliminated?

The massacre that happened in Maguindanao, now infamously known as the Maguindanao Massacre, has now placed the Philippines in an awkward situation after being spotlighted by the success of People's Boxing Champ Manny Pacquiao and 2009 CNN Hero Efren PeƱaflorida. The brutal massacre that happened has already trumped that two historic achievements. Instead, we made another mark by overtaking Iraq, Somalia and Pakistan in terms of the number of journalists killed for the year 2009.

Why should politics be like this when we can just all proceed with the democratic process of election and listen to the voice of the people on who they want to lead their constituency, instead of purging almost everyone, even those in the media who were only there to report the news as it happens. Instead, these journalists, who are the ones who make headlines, became the headlines.

Why should politics be like this when we share the common purpose of serving our constituents and the Maguindanao Massacre is a very good example of a self-serving agenda.

In just one day, numerous journalists were killed brutally and buried in deep soil, is a hard thing to imagine. Never in my life did I ever thought about that it would happen. Even those who were not in the convoy and just happened to be the next car after it to have a medical check-up in the city were murdered.

What happened on November 23, 2009 will forever be a mark on our history, a sad history. The Maguindanao Massacre must not happen again.

Whoever did this, whether it is the Ampatuan clan or not, would surely go to a place where everyone wouldn't want to be, if and only if equality would rule over personal connections.

Why politics should be like this? I hope that the Maguindanao Massacre would awaken the Filipino citizenry that elections should not be won by killing your opponents but only through a democratic process where the voters vote without fear of abduction, harassment or even death.

I extend my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families of the victims. May those who perished in this gruesome massacre rest in peace and have justice served.

Dati kaya pagtakpan mgainsidente tulad nito pero ngayn panahon ng high technology dapat nag-iisip na dahi buong mundo kita agad lahat so kahit ano pagtatakip gawin hindi na puwede kc kita na agad sa buong mundo the world already knows kung sino pinakacorrupt, pinakabrutal, pinakawala kuwenta gobyerno.

its all obvious.

What happened in Maguindanao was to uncover other related brutalities done by the same person ANDAL AMPATUAN, JR., after the demise of his older brother SAUDI AMPATUAN. I hope that other witnesses before the Maguindanao Massacre come out and testify against this oppressive leaders. Firing squad could not repay the sufferings of their victims. They deserve to be tortured, as well.

ito'y isang pangyayaring walang kapatawaran, ano ba talaga ang gusto nilang mangyari, selfish act, the world is full with this kind of people, ubusan ba daw ng lahi, tayoy nasa iisang bansa, tayo ang magkadugo, mapamuslim man o mapakristiyano o kahit na ano paman ang ating pinaniniwalaan, tayoy iisa, iisang lahi, bakit tayo nagkakaganito.?? kahit ano paman na relihiyon mayroon tayo, iisa lng ang tinuturo nito, tayoy maging isang mabuting tao dito sa mundo, at sa nangyari, ang mga taong gumagawa nito ay hindi isang Filipino kundi isang bastardo na walang iniisip kundi ang kanilang sarili. pagiging uhaw sa kapangyarihan ay walang patutunguhang maganda. sa susunod na nga henerasyon sana ating ipadama sa mga kabataan ang pagiging mabuting tao uapang sila ay lumaking mabuti at ituro natin sa kanila na tayo ay iisa. ang mundong ito ay hindi atin

why you people blaming it all on gloria??? it's not really glorias fault(only some of it)
it really started in marcos administration PLEASE PEOPLE WAKE UP!!! if you want to make your country better it starts with it's people! not it's government! GOVERNMENT ONLY SUPPORTS IT'S PEOPLE they try to protect us not SOLVE ALL OUR PROBLEMS!!! do you understand???!

Just accept that there are bad things in this world... if one could really do something about this then by all means do it... if not then please don't use these poor people who perished for your own personal gain and be famous over the net...come on people we know this is a monstrous act... just do something... not talk about it over and over.... please have respect for the poor victims

background of ampatuan:

Ampatuan Sr., according to my sources who are very reliable, chainsawed to death a woman in a park, in front of the public. The said park has a rule that you could not sleep on the park, and the woman slept there.

I'm not saying that the Ampatuan's are THE suspect/s, but rather, they are really capable of doing such deeds, and CAN be suspects...

yeah that's true...Their is no need killing people just to win the position that we want to have...Why don't they do it on their own in a nice way? like be united and help each other in lifting poor people through helping them... Why don't we have a clean politics? It will be nicer, in that waywe will have peace...
the victims must have justice, but pur Government is very slow, it's 50-50 that the victims will have justice....but I just pray that God will punish those people that didn't give mercy to the victims and for those people that are doing their best to sabotage the investigation...
